I am ranking the teams this year as follows:
RB’s will be scored out of 10 points (most important)
QB’s will be scored out of 9 Points
Defenses will be scored out of 9 Points
WR’s will be scored out of 8 Points
TE’s will be scored out of 5 Points
Bench will scored out of 3 Points (Least important)
Out of 44
Third times a charm
QB’s: Carson Palmer, Jon Kitna
Palmer had his first 4,000 yard season last year but scored 5 fewer touchdowns than he did the previous year. As I said before, last year was a very disappointing year for the Bengals and I expect them to improve very much this year. Look for Palmer to have his best year as a pro this year.
Kitna threw more interceptions than touchdowns last year, but with the help of Calvin Johnson this year I think that will change. Kitna always seems to get tons of points in the fourth quarter of games because his team is always losing. Martz is a pass happy offensive coordinator, so it can never be all that bad for Kitna, he will be solid week after week.
Two very solid QB’s…
8/9
WR’s: Torry Holt, Larry Fitzgerald, Javon Walker
Holt is Mr. Consistant, year in year out he just gets it done. He had 10 touchdowns last year and 1,200 yards receiving. I don’t see him slowing down any time soon.
Fitzgerald failed to get 1,000 yards last season, but was injured for three games. He only had 6 touchdowns, but I think last year was a rebuilding year for the Cardinals. With Leinart the starter from day one I expect a much improved Fitzgerald this year.
J-Walk was sick last year and he will be sick again this year. I expect 2004 type numbers this year because he has had a whole off-season to work with Cutler. This guy is a sure thing.
THE BEST RECEIVING CORE IN THE LEAGUE, HANDS DOWN….
8/8
RB’s: Brian Westbrook, Marion Barber
Westbrook was an animal last year rushing for 1,200 yards and receiving for nearly 700. He is a threat in the passing game and had 11 total touchdowns last season. He was 8th in scoring in the league last season. Even if McNabb isn’t healthy Westbrook will dominate.
Marion Barber played an interesting roll last season pretty much only getting a few carries a game but scores 16 total touchdowns last season. The guy has a nose for the endzone. It will be interesting to see how Wade uses him this season. He could be great or he could be just mediocre, I personally think he will be used more than he was last year and is in for a monster season.
If Barber for some reason doesn’t pan out, Hill is very deep at running back with Benson and Marshawn Lynch on the bench. I say at least one of the three does well enough to earn this rating……
9/10
TE: Vernon Davis
I like this pick a lot. Davis only played in 12 games last season because of injury. There is no doubting the guy is a tank when he is on the field. If he plays he will be silly….
4/5
Defenses: Jacksonville, Atlanta
I really like the Jacksonville pick this season. I have them as a top 10 defense. As for Atlanta, they are a bit TRIFLING…..
5/9
Bench: Benson, Lynch, Leftwich, Bruce, Kennison, Gonzalez, Turner
This is a verrrrrrry deep bench….
3/3
OVERALL SCORE: 37/44….. 84%
