I am ranking the teams this year as follows:
RB’s will be scored out of 10 points (most important)
QB’s will be scored out of 9 Points
Defenses will be scored out of 9 Points
WR’s will be scored out of 8 Points
TE’s will be scored out of 5 Points
Bench will scored out of 3 Points (Least important)
Out of 44
Team Yahoo:
QB’s: Brett Favre, Jake Delhomo
I feel bad for Hunter, getting all the leftovers that no one wanted. These two guys are fossils and Favre should have retired a long time ago. Delhomo is probably going to lose his job a few weeks into the season. I don’t see much production out of either QB this season…..
4/9
WR’s: Marvin Harrison, T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Randy Moss
Marvin is in for another silly year as usual. He is 35, but he still gets it done. I look for 1200 yards and around 12 td’s again. I think Reggie Wayne will get a few more looks this season, but Harrison will of course put up great numbers.
Housh is a great # 2 receiver. I expect around 1,000 yards receiving again with around 10 td’s. He is also one of the most consistent receivers week to week. My only concern with him is injuries, as he has missed four games the past two seasons.
Randy Moss as a number 3 receiver sounds ridiculous, but do we really know what to expect from him? Can he return to the old Moss or has he lost a step. I obviously expect a big increase in production this year, but I really don’t know how big of a playmaker he can become this season. I will be interested to watch.
Overall a sillllly receiving core……
8/8
RB’s: Shaun Alexander, Travis Henry
Shaun is entering his 8th season in the NFL and I honestly don’t know if he has much more left in the tank. Generally the shelf life of a good running back is around 4 years, the great ones can last longer, but I’m not so sure that Alexander is considered great. I think what ultimately happens to Alexander is he gets injured again because he is too old and fucking sucks. I hate Alexander, but the potential is there for sure.
Travis Henry is now on the Broncos which makes me think he can be successful. Shanahan has an eye for spotting talent at the RB position, so I have to think he can better his rushing numbers from the Titans a year ago, which is kind of scary. He ran for 1,200 yards last year and found the endzone 7 times. We know how Denver loves to run the football. The bottom line is yahoo could have drafted Hunter a GEM here.
Pretty damn good running backs considering it was an auto-draft, I would have expected Edgerrin James and Ahman Green……
7/10
TE: Tony Gonzalez
The most dependable tight end year after year, but with Brodie Croyle throwing him the ball this year, I would be worried. He will be solid of course, but I expect a slight dip in production, he might even fall out of the top 5 in tight ends this year.
4/5
Defenses: San Francisco, Oakland, Tampa, Detroit
I don’t think there is one good defense in the bunch. Tampa is known for having a good defense, but they are even mediocre. I am not impressed with any of them……
4/9
Bench
He has some good backups in Jamal Lewis, Fred Taylor, Cooley, Mason, McCown, Battle. Plus we all know Hunter is KING of waiver wire transactions…..
3/3
OVERALL SCORE: 30/44…….. 68%
